Neurosurgery

After a neurological consultation it may be necessary for your consultant to seek a neurosurgical opinion from one of our specialist neurosurgeons attached to the Hospital. This occurs, for example, when a patient has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, some types of brain haemorrhage such as a subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) or a subdural haemorrhage, when there is pressure on the spinal cord (myelopathy) or one of the nerve roots (radiculopathy).

Often the reverse occurs when the neurosurgeon asks for a neurological opinion on one of their patients.
